Enzymes

Key to the body's immune system is the ability to make enzymes. Digestive enzymes are used in the process of turning food into usable fuel. Unfortunately, eating cooked food requires far more enzymes than eating raw food. Equally disturbing is the fact that your body has a limited level of enzymes - or more to the point - a limited ability to manufacture enzymes.

"Enzyme potential is the number of enzymes we can manufacture in our
lifetime, either metabolic or digestive. The more digestive enzymes your
body is forced to manufacture, the fewer metabolic enzymes your body will have
the ability to produce. This in turn, leads to an enzyme shortage and the
quickest way to disease and death."

Enzymes: What the Experts Know
Bohager

Can you purchase digestive enzymes in pill form? Of course.
Does this truly allow your body to turn a pepperoni pizza into a living fuel for your body. No.

What if I ate only foods that contain living enzymes?
What foods contain enzymes?
Raw fruit,
raw vegetables,
lightly steamed vegetables,
steamed whole grains,
cooked beans and legumes.
Interestingly, enzymes require water and proper pH to play their role metabolically (creating energy in the body) and from a digestive standpoint (assisting with extracting energy from nutrients). Without digestive enzymes you have resulting malnutrition.
What happens when you go from eating chicken Caesar salad and iced tea to eating whole organic foods in raw, highly enzymatic state? I'll tell you!
