pH Balance - Striving for Alkalinity

Eating foods that are high in enzymes will keep your body from depleting its precious store. But the end game is achieving a proper pH balance.

If you have a pool you know that you must test the water for pH balance - too acidic, add chemicals until you achieve desired alkalinity. The same is true for your body. Your body has a pH factor ranging from acidic to alkaline. Specifically, a healthy alkalinity would be 7.1 - 7.4; illness occurs in the 4.5 range.

All bodies are acidic during illness. In order to push the body back toward alkalinity (health) it is necessary to only ingest items that result in alkalizing the body. To illustrate how the body uses pH to heal consider this: when you are sick your body pH will register acidic. Fever is alkalizing. Your body uses a fever to right your pH and kill infection. If your temperature registers 100 degrees and you decide to take an Advil to stop the fever, it will bring the fever down but will also stop the alkalizing of the body. Now your body is still fighting an infection but wellness has been stalled by the Advil and your illness is prolonged.

As you could guess, those food stuffs that alkalize the body are raw fruits, raw vegetables and whole grains with their husk in tact which are steamed below 110 degrees. Those food stuffs that are acidic to the body are meat, dairy, food with preservatives, white flour and fried foods. For instance, soda pop is instantly acidic to your system regardless of sugar or caffeine content.

What if I ate only that which alkalizes my body, righting its pH?

What if I ate only foods which carry with them their own enzyme store, thereby refraining from depleting my own precious store?
