Abstinence

Yeah.....but there's one problem. You know how to eat right, but do you abstain from certain foods? Do you give your body time to heal? Or are you constantly sneaking a little treat? Do you always fall for the menu item that is the "special of the house"? It is one thing to eat right. It is another to abstain from life-sucking, energy sucking, sickening foods.

People eat with their emotions. They forget that everything they ingest touches soft tissue and transforms, for the better or for the worse, the biology of their bodies.

I challenge you to 30 days meat/wheat/dairy free. Your body will react immediately when you stop sneaking junk food teasers into your daily diet. These treats rob you of enzymes. They cause you to be acidic. Cancer lives in an acidic system.

Vegetables, steamed grains, raw condiments and cooked beans create alkalinity in the body.

Soda pop, cooked meat, all preservatives and coffee are instantly acidic to your body.

"What happens when you're too acid?
*The immune system is impaired. An acidic condition decreases the beneficial bacteria within the intestine. Nutritional absorption of the B vitamin group is diminished.
* The heartbeat can be altered by acidic wastes when these wastes diminish tissue oxygenation. A moderate alkaline system creates ideal regularity.
*Excessive acidic wastes create added labor for the lungs, whose main job is to help rid the system of carbon dioxide.
*All nourishment assimilated by the intestines enters the blood via the liver. The burden on the liver is greater when acid blood wastes are excessive.
*In addition to regulating blood sugar, the pancreas produces alkaline enzymes and sodium bicarbonate. The physiological functions of the pancreas are designed to reduce excess acidity. To create optimal blood sugar balance, the pancreas requires an alkaline diet.
*Of all organs, the kidneys probably take the brunt of damage from acid wastes. In the last minute, over 1 liter of blood was filtered through your kidneys. The kidneys work ceaselessly to maintain blood alkalinity. Research has shown that kidney stones are composed of waste acid cells and mineral salts that have become adhesively bonded in an albuminous (waste acid) substance.
*Toxins cannot be thoroughly removed via the kidneys, liver, and intestines. This creates greater susceptibility to infections and headaches."

Stop it. Give your body a rest from the constant flood of trash. You've eaten wheat your whole life. Give the intestinal villi in your large intestines a 30 day respite. See what happens. Does it make you crazy to go without bread? That should be a huge indicator that you are addicted. Does it make you weak to go 30 days without protein? I bet it doesn't. Does it make you sad to forgo the milk in your latte? Substitute with soy or rice milk. Consider the effect of certain foods on your emotions. Make yourself a human lab. Go for the Big Clean. See how clean feels.

Fasting. A fast does not need to be extreme. Eat dinner on Sunday night. Drink water all day Monday until dinner on Monday night.

"By fasting regularly, you give all of your organs a rest, and thus help
reverse the aging process and live a longer and healthier life. During a
fast: the immune system's workload is greatly reduced and the digestive
tract is spared any inflammation due to allergic reactions to food; due to a
lowering of serum fats that thins the blood, tissue oxygenation is increased and
white blood cells are moved more efficiently; fat-stored chemicals such as
pesticides and drugs are released. Due to these effects of fasting, a fast
can help you heal with greater speed; cleanse your liver, kidneys, and colon;
purify your blood; help you lose excess weight and water; flush out toxins;
clear the eyes and tongue; and cleanse the breath."
