What Your Body Needs: Protein

Protein is probably the most misunderstood element of good nutrition. Americans consider beef to be the highest source of protein and the common belief is "the more the better". Both of these misconceptions are proving deadly to American health.

American cattle are raised on corn, not grains. The stomach of a cow cannot digest corn. American cows are fed growth hormones and antibiotics to reverse the diseases caused by the ingestion of corn. Then we barely bleed them during the butchering process which leaves masses of blood in the flesh. According to Jewish law, an animal should be hung upside down with its head cut off to release all the blood from the body. This step is vital for cleanliness: it is toxic to ingest the blood of another animal. Furthermore, I know very few times when animal flesh is consumed raw. We tend to cook meat before eating it. Cooked protein is very difficult to digest because it does not contain any digestive enzymes after the cooking process is complete. Therefore, upon entering the stomach, the meat must stay in the stomach until the liver and pancreas can supply the necessary enzymes to break down the food into usable components. This process is stalled in Blood Types A, B and AB. When meat stays in the stomach too long it begins to emit ammonia. Ammonia kills cells.

"Animals build larger, huskier and healthier bodies
from the amino acids obtained from vegetation, than man does by eating
meat. If more proof were needed to refute the farcical claims in favor of
meat eating, we could look around for carnivorous animals suitable as beasts of
burden - and find none, because they lack both power and endurance.
Herbivorous animal, however, from the horse, the oxen to the elephant all have
phenomenal strength and endurance obtained from eating raw
vegetation."

The Vegetarian Guide to Diet and Salad
Dr. Norman Walker

As a vegetarian, I cannot count the number of times people have challenged my eating choices by asking me, "How do you get your protein?". How much protein do they think I need? Are Americans protein deficient? What are the signs of protein deficiency? Are animal products superior to vegetable sources for protein? Let's get the facts straight.

"The explanation for these findings is that meat
consumption leaves an acidic residue, and a diet of acid-forming foods requires
the body to balance its pH by withdrawing calcium (an alkaline mineral) from the
bones and teeth. So even if we consume sufficient calcium, a high-protein,
meat-based diet will cause calcium to be leached from our bones. Dr. John
McDougall reports on one long-term study finding that even with calcium intakes
as high as 1,400 mgs. a day, if the subjects consumed 75 grams of protein daily,
there was more calcium lost in their urine than absorbed into their body.
These results show that to avoid a calcium deficiency, it may be more important
to reduce protein intake than to increase calcium consumption."

God's Way to Ultimate Health

Your body needs protein. Better said, your body needs whole food sources of vitamins and minerals which convert to usable protein by your body in the amounts your changing body needs over a lifetime.

Protein is made up of amino acids. Your body needs 23 amino acids: 15 are supplied by the body leaving 8 to be gained from the food you eat. We refer to these as the "8 essential amino acids". What would that type of protein look like? fish with fins, eggs, beans, peas, kale, brown rice, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, potatoes, summer squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and bananas.

Spread the word: I ate my bananas today so I have completed my protein needs for the moment. Thank you very much for your concern!

Addicted to your animal products? Choose beef, chicken and turkey that are organic and wild, in other words, they are free-range and allowed to walk, eat grains and behave like animals. Avoid pepperoni, lunch meat and sausage. Eat meat that looks like a piece of animal: a chicken breast, a turkey leg, a beef shank. Wash the meat thoroughly removing any residual blood. Cook it using whole food condiments such as sea salt, white pepper, red wine, olive oil and garlic. Type O's are the only blood type that can properly digest small portions of red meat. But limit your meat eating to once a day or 5 times per week. Give your liver time to rest and rejuvenate by flooding your body with life giving vegetables and whole grains.

Lastly, remember animal flesh grows cancer. Dairy grows cancer. If you are sick, tired, achy or worse, spend 30 days as a vegetarian and give your body the relief it needs to heal itself and boost the immune system.

Beans
1 bag whole raw beans (pinto, black)
distilled water
In a crock pot, place washed beans and distilled water. Do not turn the crock pot on. Leave beans for 8 hours replacing water every 2 hours. Pour out water at the end of 8 hours. Pour beans into stock pot and cover with distilled water. Bring beans and water to a rolling boil for 30 minutes. Place all back in crock pot and season to taste: jalapenos, cumin, garlic, white pepper. Let simmer for 4 -8 hours on low. Serve.
